Monday, November 23 will be the 9th anniversary of the death of my very good friend and mentor April Lawton. It’s hard to believe it’s been close to a decade since she passed. She was one of the most brilliant and talented people I’ve known. The arts and science came easy to April but life and all its challenges were a struggle. As many of you know April wasn’t dealt a good hand but she became a pioneer doing what so many take for granted today.
The song in this You Tube video is called “One Way Ride.” April and I wrote it in our small studio in Dix Hills Long Island. The song is of course dated but do yourself a favor and make sure you listen to April’s guitar solo. It will rip your heart out.
Many of my friends on Facebook at one time in their careers got a chance to work with April. As a matter of fact most of us met through our work with her. I’ll be releasing songs each week. Hope you enjoy.
